What is VPK?

Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is Florida's free prekindergarten program available to all 4-year-olds, regardless of family income. VPK helps children get a head start by developing essential pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills. Children who complete a high-quality VPK program enter kindergarten better prepared than those who haven't attended prekindergarten. VPK provides an excellent opportunity for your child to experience early classroom learning in a fun, safe, and supportive environment, with a focus on Christian values.

Program Overview

WCA’s Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) program is free for eligible children. With a VPK voucher, tuition covers 540 hours of instruction, providing a 5-day program from 8:00 AM to 11:15 AM. We also offer a VPK Plus program, which extends care to 5:30 PM, covering wrap-around care from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.

To determine if your child is eligible for VPK, they must meet two requirements: they must reside in Florida and be four years old on or before September 1 of the current school year.

Step 1: If you don’t already have an account, create one in the Family Portal.

Step 2: Complete the online VPK application and upload proof of Florida residency and your child’s age.

Step 3: Once your VPK registration is processed, you will receive an email indicating the certificate of eligibility to the VPK provider of your choice.
